London Bass Bash w/Janek Gwizdala & Ian Martin Allison

Join me and Ian Martin Allison for a live 2 1/2 hour bass masterclass on June 1st 2025 at the Vortex Jazz Club London! 

We are two bass players with radically different careers and experiences, so I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to share that with you all live, in-person, and in my home town!

With nothing off-limits in terms of what you can ask us, we'll also be diving deep into effects, touring, recording, learning, teaching, and how we deal with the highs and lows of life as professional musicians. 

We'll both have tracks on hand to make live examples of everything we discuss, and there will be ample time after the workshop for selfies and signings.  

We have the venue from 10:30am to 1pm, but I have a suspicion a rather large contingent of bassists will be continuing the hang locally perhaps for food and beverages and more bass chat.

FAQs for the event:

#1 The event is being held in the UK but the tickets are in US $'s?

Both Ian and I live in the US so it made the most sense for everyone involved to keep it in $'s, save you VAT, and us a headache after the fact changing money. For anyone wondering, the ticket price of $46 works out to about £35. 

#2 It's a bit early for a bass event isn't it...?

It is... but since we're filling in at the very last minute for a much larger event that was cancelled recently, this was the best we could find in the time we had. Personally, I would love for it to be twice as long and start three hours later. We will plan far in advance next time! 

#3 Should we bring our instruments?

I wish I could say yes to this one because I do love getting people up on stage at workshops, but both space and time are incredibly limited. Not only is there a cap on the number of tickets available at around 90, but if 90 of you showed up all with basses, only about two thirds of you would fit in the venue!

#4 Are there any restrictions on filming the class?

You're welcome to film and share clips as much as you like, but maybe try not to sit there filming the entire thing. I'd hate for you to miss most of it. I will also be filming so nothing is going to waste, and clips will come out on my channel down the line.
